Soft Tissue and Myofascial Release
Have you tried soft tissue or myofascial release? Don’t wait for an injury or surgery to make a Physical Therapy appointment! The best time for Physical Therapy (PT) is actually before you get hurt.
- Experiencing pain, weakness or muscle imbalance?
- Trying to prevent injuries or surgeries?
- Seeking to improve your sensory integration and quality of life?
What is Soft Tissue/Myofascial Release?
The Myofascial Release Technique (MRT) targets trigger points, tissue dysfunction, and muscle tightness.
What does the Release feel like?
By applying gentle, targeted pressure to your fascial tissue trigger points, our physical therapists can relieve pain and increase your range of motion. This can improve your function in daily and recreational activities.
Will Myofascial Release help me?
Myofascial Release is great if you have:
- Specific pain points
- Muscle knots
- Limited range of motion (feeling stuck in your neck, shoulder, foot, etc).
How does MRT work?
Your myofascial system is the group of muscles and tissues in your body. MRT focuses on fascia, the fine tissue that surrounds all structures in your body. Fascia connects to your muscles, nerves, vessels, and bones. Musculoskeletal conditions, trauma, repetitive stress syndrome, and poor posture can all contribute to fascial restriction—this is what causes you pain.

Our Physical Therapy team offers a range of treatments, supervised by our expert PT Coordinator, who is trained as a CNA and sports medicine clinician.
